Monster Permit!!!150 viewsAdrian Michas landed this monster Permit off of the rocks at the St. Lucie Inlet near Stuart, Florida. Adrian is a great angler, who fishes regularly and this was a species, catch of a lifetime, for him! Adrian books his trips with Capt. Scott Cormier. This fish fought so hard, at first, Adrian thought it was a tarpon, but when it did not jump, he was not quite sure what he had on the end of his line. Great job Adrian!

Southern Angler Beach Tarpon Fly137 viewsThis fly is called the Southern Angler Beach Tarpon fly. It's a great early morning low light fly for the Tarpon we find on the beach in May, June and July. Later in the day if the conditions get bright and sunny I will use the same pattern but in a lighter color. I tie this fly on a Gamakatsu SC17 Tarpon hook, with black over purple Kinky fiber and silver gliss n glow in between the two colors, the eye is a Orvis 3D big fish eye 10mm, with a 5 min. epoxy head. Give it a try!

66 viewsScott,

I wanted to thank you for a great time on the water on Friday. I really enjoyed myself and still cannot believe that we were able to sight fish with the less than ideal conditions. You have a great fishery and I promise you I will be down again. Sorry I did not make it to the film tour, I am sure it was a success. Thanks again.

92 viewsChris Oliver, of Rockland, Maine, caught this nice dock light Snook on fly off a dock in the Stuart area near the St. Lucie Inlet on a Southern Angler Charter. Night time docklight Snook fly fishing is best with a moving tide.Mar 05, 2009

139 viewsThe Giant Jack Crevalle...What a great game fish! I wait for these guys all winter hoping they will show up sooner rather than later, and this year they didn't disappoint. Saturday the 24th of January was my first shot at the Jacks this year, and they were out in full force. The three guys with me, Tim Niles, Fred Shiple, and Nick Mcdonald had a big time cathing these big brutes. We did a six hour trip and fished the Jacks the whole time. I bet they where feeling it the next day. It's hard to explain just how hard these fish fight, pound for pound they have to be the hardest fighting fish I know of. They are also a great choice for the flyfisherman, they will teach a beginner how to fight big fish in no time because you get so many shots. Great job guys hope you were not too sore the next day.

Atlanti Permit134 viewsThis Permit was caught near the St Lucie Powerplant. They are a very strong fish and fun to catch. Capt. Amy Cormier caught this fish on the same day she caught the dolphin which can be seen in the photo album.Jan 01, 2009
